Melaleuca Alternifolia & Quinquenervia - What's the difference?
My first experience with Melaleuca was buying Tea tree from the health food store to make homemade cleaners quite a few years ago. I knew it was great used as a natural cleaning agent. Once I started using Young Living oils the only use I had for tea tree was to spot treat blemishes with a tiny bit of this essential oil. Other than that I didn't know much about this oil.
I just recently acquired Melaleuca Quinquenervia. If you're anything like me you've wondered why do we have two different Melaleuca oils from Young Living? So let's dive in and look at the difference between the two and similarities.
Commonly known from the broad leaved paperbark tree
It's from a small/medium size tree of all spice family, it gets 20 m high
The oil is used in cosmetics in Australia
Supports skin health
supports a healthy bladder
FOUND IN: Melrose

I find they both smell distinctly like tea tree, there's no denying that. However I find the Melaleuca Q is a bit more mild. Do you own both? Do you have a favorite? Are either of these on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear from you!
I'm always curious what's the difference with products that are similar. Today we are looking into three citrus oils: Orange, Tangerine and Bergamot. First let's talk about the similarities:
Sweet, peaceful aroma, can fill the room with peace and harmony
FOUND IN: Abundance, awaken, Christmas spirit, Citrus Fresh, Envision, harmony, into the Future, Kidscents Toothpaste, Peace and calming, Power Meal
I love to put olive oil in a roller bottle and put a few drops of orange oil in it. We apply this to our tummy everyday to keep ourselves above the wellness line.
It is believed that Christopher Columbus brought it to Italy from the canary Islands
known for it's flavor in earl grey tea
light and citrusy scent is uplifting and relaxing
a lot like orange, but has underlying floral
FOUND IN: Awaken, clarity, dragon time, dream catcher, gentle baby, harmony, joy, progessence plus and white angelica
VITALITY LINE
Young Living has recently come out with their vitality line. You can get Bergamot, Tangerine and orange in the vitality collection. Which means you can use these oils as supplements. Orange is fantastic in your ningxia. Tangerine is great in popsicles and maybe you want to spruce up any cup of tea by adding bergamot to it? Just some suggestions.
I would love to know if you have all three of these which one is your favorite, or which one is on your wishlist! Let me know in the comments below. It's hard for me to choose. Maybe I'd pick tangerine because it's so bright, orange for my tummy to keep me above the wellness line, or bergamot because I'm a huge fan of earl grey. The decision is too tough. I choose all of them. Want to watch the video about what the difference is check this out:
Young Living has different products with frankincense in it. I wanted to compare a few of them today. When I first signed up one of the first questions I had about Frankincense was, what is the difference between Frankincense and Sacred Frankincense. Why did Young Living have two? As my collection grew I discovered Frankincense Resin. Recently Young Living has added the vitality line and Frankincense is one in that collection. Young Living came out with Vitality oils! The bottles are all 5 ml and they look a bit different. So what's the difference?
Well I heard someone explain it to me comparing it to coconut oil. You can purchase coconut oil for your body moisturizing needs in a certain part of the grocery store. However you can also purchase coconut oil in the grocery section where food is purchased. It is the same coconut oil, just one is labeled for food consumption and one is labeled to be used topically. Essential oils are essentially the same. The vitality oils are the SAME oil that is inside the regular labeled oils HOWEVER it is labeled differently for different use. So let's talk about the different uses.
add to food for a delicious kick for concentrated flavor
add in capsule for supportive properties
great in ningxia, water, recipes or capsules
So how do you know if you have a vitality essential oil? It will be clearly labeled with a white label.
What if you don't have any oils that are labeled for supplemental use. Well just as a reminder the oils that are in the regular labels ARE THE EXACT same. You just can't tell/recommend others to use the REGULAR oils for uses other than topical/aromatic.
Hope this post makes sense and helps you on your oily journey!
Remember we're all in this together!

This month is long over but I thought I would share with you some of my favorites this month. I love sharing all the products I am loving. Let's start with some essential oils. I am a huge fan of Young Living Essential Oils. I love their seed to seal promise. I use them everyday!
Here are the SINGLE OILS I'm loving:
1. GRAPEFRUIT VITALITY ESSENTIAL OIL (get it here)
This month I've been drinking a whole lot more water since adding 1 -2 drops of young living grapefruit vitality essential oil to my water. It's so uplifting and refreshing. Be sure to only use this oil in a glass bottle or stainless steel. Citrus oils are not great to use in plastic. It can actually break down the plastic, and you don't want to be ingesting that. yuck!
This is a new oil in my collection. I find it a mild woodsy scent. I almost found it has a lemony scent. According to Young Living's website: 'Hinoki comes from Japanese cypress and has a rich, invigorating citrus aroma that can increase spiritual awareness. Historically, Hinoki essential oil was used to refresh the soul.' I love to apply it to my forearms. I find it extremely calming.
A few nights this month I had some stressful days. I decided to take some epsom salts and Joy essential oil and put those in my bath. So incredibly relaxing. Let's just say I was a lot happier after a bath with joy essential oil. It honestly is such a happy blend. Joy essential oil is a blend that has: Bergamot, yang yang, lemon, coriander, tangerine, jasmine, roman chamomile, palmarosa and rose essential oil. Those together is a delightful blend. It creates a warm, comforting aroma that inspires a romantic atmosphere.
I had a Dentist appointment this month. Let's just say Dentists are not my favorite people to visit. I was so nervous I added some peace and calming to my diffuser necklace. I thought maybe that would work great and I could inhale the aroma to calm me down during such a nerve wracking situation. Little did I remember that they put this bib on you that completely covered my diffuser necklace. So note to self: apply peace and calming EVERYWHERE...not just in a diffuser necklace when heading to the dentist.
Peace and Calming is a blend that has tangerine, orange, yang yang, patchouli and blue tansy. It's such a comforting/fresh aroma.
I just unboxed this in March in my march Essential Rewards unboxing. It quickly became a favorite. This is the most delightful perfume. I love applying it to my wrists each day. So grateful I got this order. I wish I had ordered it earlier. Lady Sclareol is a blend that has geranium, coriander, vetiver, orange, clary, bergamot, ylang ylang, sandalwood, sage, jasmine, blue spruce, spearment and hinoki.
This is such a nice soap. A friend of mine said this is the creamiest of all the young living soaps. I haven't tried all of them so I can't vouch for that. However I do REALLY love this. Also if you're a huge valor fan this is a great way to get valor since it's out of stock. I heard it's probably going to be out of stock until the fall. I love valor and love to use it daily. A viewer on youtube actually recommended cutting the soap in 1/4 to make it last longer. I loved doing this. My soap is lasting much longer. So happy tour this tip.
I've been loving this workout. I've been doing the 21 day fix. But this is a ton of fun to get your cardio workout in. Of course this is a dance workout. So I won't be posting pictures or videos of me doing it. haha! But it's a lot of fun, and the time goes by really quickly.
This is a newer favorite for me. I just acquired a pandora bracelet a couple months ago. I feel like I'm always late on the trends. But I got so excited when I realized I could get special charms for special occasions, trips or from friends/family. Here are some of my favorites so far. It's a bracelet in the works. Do you own a pandora bracelet? What's your favorite charm? Let me know. Not all the charms are from pandora, some I got from amazon. I always make sure they are sterling silver.
I got these colored pave beads on amazon. They're so fun. I love choosing different colors to put in between each special charm. They sparkle and are so pretty.
JIM BOB HAGGERTON is my favorite youtube right now. He's a chiropractor who has a passion for health and wellness. He usually does periscopes each week and uploads those to youtube. They are always insightful and I always learn something new while watching them. If you want to watch my favorites for this month you can via youtube. Let me know in the comments below what you've been loving! I love to encourage others as we're all on this journey together.
I have been curious lately to discover what is the difference between different essential oils that seem similar to me. I know if I've been curious what's the difference between them I know others must be as well. Today we're going to take a closer look at the Eucalyptus oils that young living offers.
Which one is your favorite? Which one is on your wish list? I want to encourage you to get the ones you don't have so that you can compare them yourselves and discover which one you love best.
We have recently become a soccer family! Our kiddos both signed up for soccer this season. We are excited to embark upon this new journey. Along with packing some much needed essentials we decided to make a DIY sun spray. I got this recipe from The Chemical Free Home book by Melissa Poepping. It's easy and you can make this too. I love the option to use natural products to support our families wellness. We plan on being on the soccer field about 3-6 hours each week and this will be great to apply while we are in the sunshine! You need to make sure you re-apply every 30 minutes or so, or after getting wet.
